Procedure coverage

Merrill Field’s four approaches are all RNAV (GPS) procedures and serve only two of its six runway ends, concentrating instrument access on part of the three-runway layout. Runway length varies sharply: an aircraft requiring more than 2,640 ft of available runway has only the 4,000 ft Runway 07/25 within the published dimensions.

Surrounding chart context

Nearby procedure coverage ranges widely. Ted Stevens Anchorage International and Elmendorf AFB have substantially broader chart sets, while Bryant AAF and Big Lake have much thinner coverage; Lake Hood has only a single published chart. The Anchorage and Seward sectionals provide overlapping VFR coverage, while the Anchorage-Fairbanks Terminal Area Chart adds a terminal-area view beyond the airport-specific instrument procedures.
