Go PROAnchorage, Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound sit near the centre of a sheet extending from the Gulf of Alaska coast north across the Alaska Range into the interior. To the west it takes in Lake Clark and the western approaches to Cook Inlet; eastwards, the coverage reaches across the Wrangell and Saint Elias mountains towards the Canadian border and the country around Yakutat.
The flying landscape is markedly varied: intricate coastline and island-studded water in the south, broad inlet country around Anchorage, then extensive glaciers, high mountain terrain and sparsely settled interior valleys. Routes crossing the sheet can therefore move quickly between maritime and continental settings.
Southbound coverage continues on the Seward sheet. Beyond the western edge, Kodiak adjoins the southern portion and McGrath the northern portion. Fairbanks lies to the north-west, while Dawson continues coverage to the north-east. At the eastern and south-eastern margins, the Juneau sheet provides the onward connection along the Gulf coast and towards south-eastern Alaska.
