Zamperini Field (KTOA) in Torrance, California is rebuilt with an updated AFCAD that closely matches real-world layouts using Airport Design Editor, diagrams, satellite imagery, and photos for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Expect corrected runway placement, refined taxiways and run-up areas, improved parking, detailed hangars and buildings including the Robinson factory, static aircraft, and multiple on-field helipads.

Zamperini Field (KTOA), Torrence, CA. This is an remake of the default Zamperini Field done using Airport Design Editor 9x. Utilizing airport diagrams, Google Earth and photos the field was remade to better represent the real world airport. Improvements include accurate taxiways, runway placement, run-up areas, hangars and buildings (including the Robinson factory), static aircraft, corrected parking as well as the multiple helipads located on the field. Overview of Zamperini Field.

Hello everyone, this is an AFCAD file remake of the default Zamperini Field located in Torrence, CA. I decided to remake the field using the wonderful Airport Design Editor software. I have tried to stay as true to real life as possible as I could. It's not 100% perfect but it's a great deal more accurate than the default version. I utilized airport diagrams, Google Earth and photos for placement of taxiways, runways, buildings and aircraft.

To install:

Simply place the two (.ad2) files into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder and it will automatically install into flight sim.

This was a fun project so by all means if you would like to modify this file to improve accuracy (buildings, planes, equipment, etc) go right ahead. I only ask that if you do so just be kind enough to acknowledge my work in your revision.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place AFCAD file

AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.

Finding the scenery

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
