FSX Canada Day Fireworks - 2012 Edition

Canada Day Fireworks 2012 fills the night sky with celebratory displays across major Canadian cities, including new shows in Newmarket, Ontario and Langley, British Columbia, with curated placements for a festive cross-country tour. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it updates the 2011 package and honors Canadian Armed Forces service.

Fireworks placed throughout Canada - a small update for 2012 replacing the original 2011 file. Two new locations added - Newmarket, ON and Langley, BC on top of many great cities in the Canadian Confederation. Dedicated to past and present Canadian soldiers. By Josef A. Kunzlar of FSXTipline.

Two new places such as Langley, BC & Newmarket, ON added AND the Canadian territorial capitals deleted - please read the readme. Compiled by Google + Google Earth + FSX Acceleration SDK's BglComp.exe from FSX Gold. Enjoy!

Finally, I've taken a bit of artistic license at places as to length and location - figure you might like that. I can't believe Toronto's Ontario Place isn't having fireworks on the beautiful Toronto waterfront.

Dedication:

From an American to Canada's Armed Forces for your service in helping protect America from WWI to WWII to Korea to OPERATION DESERT STORM to OPERATION YELLOW RIBBON to OPERATION NOBLE EAGLE after 9/11 to Afghanistan... some of us Yanks won't forget and will be grateful.

Installation:

  1. Just to be safe, make sure you delete last year's Canada_july_fw.BGL in your Addon Scenery\Scenery folder OR any special folder you created.
  2. Paste the Canada Day Fireworks 2012 folder in your FSX Addon Scenery Folder.
  3. Activate the addon scenery as you would any other scenery package EXCEPT make sure Canada Day Fireworks 2012 is above ALL your ORBX scenery. I did learn thanks to e-mail correspondence this is necessary.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
