VXE Douglas DC-4 textures recreate a U.S. Navy Antarctic Development Squadron 6 aircraft used around McMurdo Sound, based on rare reference of the surviving museum airframe and tailored to FSBerlin’s DC-4 with matching markings and identity details. Built for FS2004, requires DC44AAP.ZIP.

Textures only for FSBerlin's DC4; requires DC44AAP.ZIP. The model is one of the few navy antarctic models around. Air Devron 6 (Antarctic development squadron 6) served the USA's interests in Antarctica from Admiral Byrd's first flight until the 1990's when the USAF took over. Original plane by Arik Hohmeyer. Repaint by Luke Friese.

Here are textures for a DC4 representative of the one's used by Air Devron 6 (navy Antarctic Development Squadron 6). The textures are based on the only side-on pic of the surviving museum plane so they may not be 100%. I have guessed as to what may be on the top, but hey, If you want a plane representing the US navies involvement in Antarctica, this is about all there is for FS2004 at the moment.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FS2004 add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per readme

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
