FS2004 Avro York Base Package

Avro York brings a classic postwar RAF and civil transport to FS2004 with a detailed Gmax exterior, authentic textures, and a cockpit panel tuned for period flying. Choose from six load and engine configurations, plus liveries for 246 Squadron MW207, BOAC G-AGNP “Manchester,” and Skyways G-AHEY.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

Used variously as a long-range freighter and/or passenger airliner, the York was designed around the wings, engines, undercarriage, and tail assembly of the Lancaster bomber, adding a box-shaped fuselage and a center fin. Gmax exterior model and textures by Manfred Jahn, FDE by Paul Edwards, panel by Phil Perrott (Alphasim), Paul Edwards, and Lars Fors. Textures represent MW207 of 246 Squadron RAF, BOAC G-AGNP ("Manchester"), and Skyways G-AHEY. Users can choose to fly these in any of six load and engine configurations.

Installation:

  • Copy the folder Avro_York contained in the zip to your Flight Simulator 9\aircraft folder. In the aircraft selection menu, the aircraft will show up under the manufacturer's name, "Avro".
  • Detailed handling instructions can be accessed via the kneeboard checklist and reference tabs (F10 or Alt>Aircraft menu).
  • File panel.htm contains pointers to gauges and panel layout.

How to install this mod

FS2004 add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per readme

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
