This revised package delivers a dedicated repaint of Aeropesca Colombia’s classic Curtiss C-46A Commando, adapted for the freeware base model created by Libardo Guzman and the CalClassic team. Designed specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 enthusiasts who appreciate the iconic twin-engine transport, it focuses solely on external visuals. The repaint, prepared by Manuele Villa, retains historical authenticity while improving fidelity for virtual flight.
Notable Characteristics of the Aeropesca Scheme
Developed to replicate the vivid livery of Aeropesca Colombia, this paint set presents period-correct markings and weathered accents. The Curtiss C-46A Commando—originally a robust cargo aircraft—carries its unique fuselage shape and distinctive tail design. Enthusiasts of vintage military transports often seek out this airframe for retro-themed assignments, particularly due to its expansive cargo hold and reliable radial engines.
Historical Aircraft Insights
The Curtiss C-46 Commando once flew under several commercial and military operators but later retired into civilian service. Aeropesca Colombia took advantage of its sturdy performance for regional cargo and charter operations. This repaint faithfully portrays the airline’s characteristic branding, which complements the aircraft’s broad wings and durable fuselage.

Integration Steps
Before proceeding, ensure you already possess the C46GA.ZIP base package by developers Libardo Guzman and the CalClassic team. Search for it in the Fly Away Simulation mod library, and confirm correct functionality of the original aircraft before adding this texture.
- Extract the folder named texture.AEROPESCA into the existing GA_C-46 directory located under your Flight Simulator 9/AIRCRAFT folder.
- Open the Base texture folder within that same C-46 folder, then copy its contents into the newly added texture.AEROPESCA folder. Avoid overwriting files if prompted, ensuring you only add missing textures.
- Make a backup of your AIRCRAFT.CFG file if desired, then open the active AIRCRAFT.CFG with a text editor. Insert the following lines after the last [fltsim.XX] entry, adjusting the "XX" so it remains consistent with your existing entries:
[fltsim.XX]

description=Special thanks to Libardo Guzman, Tom Gibson, and the CalClassic team for providing the base aircraft. Repaint by Manuele Villa, March 2007.
- Finalize the edit by saving changes to the AIRCRAFT.CFG file. Your Curtiss C-46A Commando will now be available in the Aeropesca Colombia livery upon your next simulator launch.
