McDonnell-Douglas KC-10 Shamu Schemes delivers a complete KC-10 package for FSX with two 1980s-inspired repaints, including AX and FX tail codes tied to Aeroworks Facility 3 and Australis Ops Center. Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This is a standalone full package of Thomas Ruth and Erick Cantu's KC10. It sports the AX tail code of Aeroworks Flight Center 3 as well as the FX tail code of Australis OC. The package includes two schemes reminiscent of the Shamu schemes of the 1980s. Updates and paint by Jason L. Terry with additional Beta Testing by Mike Vivaldi and Austin "Firestorm" Gardner.

Minor updates over the original:

  • Tweaked flight dynamics for more realistic handling, the original version had a good flight model but slightly too much roll for a plane of this size.
  • 2 New scheme with AX/FX tail codes.
  • Added differential brakes so you can turn easier while braking.
  • Added a Fuel Management gauge of my own design.

Known issues:

  • The VC doesn't have the fuel management gauge due to the way it was mapped the locations of that gauge could not be added.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme
