This repaint offers a distinctive Argentine color scheme for Rob Richardson’s Gloster Meteor F4 within Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration. It depicts C-014, an aircraft assigned to Grupo 2 de Caza Bombardeo at BAM Moron in the early 1960s. The repaint was developed by Peter Watkins, who meticulously recreated the Argentine markings to match historical references.
Exploring the Meteor’s Significance
The Gloster Meteor F4 emerged as an evolved jet fighter variant introduced by Britain during the mid-1940s. Its robust design, including improved wings and upgraded engines (Derwent engines), made it a formidable choice for various air forces. Argentina’s Air Force, known then as Fuerza Aérea Argentina, embraced this jet to enhance both its strategic presence and its capacity to conduct advanced aerial operations. By the start of the 1960s, aircraft like C-014 played a notable role in supporting national defense priorities and pilot training.
Unique Argentine Livery
In this add-on, the aircraft’s textures showcase the specific paintwork that was unique to the South American operator. C-014, in particular, wore the proud emblems of the Argentine Air Force and carried operational markings that set it apart from other international Meteor units. The fuselage details, tail number placement, and wing roundels all reflect the historical authenticity captured by Peter Watkins.

Integrating the Repaint
This project is a repaint only and requires the freeware Gloster Meteor F4 base model designed by Rob Richardson. You should have the original files installed in your SimObjects > Airplanes directory before applying these textures. The base package is freely available and can be found in the Fly Away Simulation library.
- Place the new texture folder inside the “Gloster Meteor F Mk 4” directory, found in your Microsoft Flight Simulator X “SimObjects” folder.
- Open the aircraft configuration (aircraft.cfg) file and add the following entry, adjusting the “xx” in [fltsim.xx] to align with your aircraft list sequence.
[fltsim.xx]

Notes on Usage
When loading the aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration, you will find this repaint under “Gloster” in the aircraft selection menu. Ensure that the main Meteor F4 files from Rob Richardson are installed correctly to enable all 3D model elements, panel configurations, and sound files. This package focuses on offering accurate external textures that replicate historical service with Argentina’s Air Force and does not alter cockpit attributes or flight dynamics.
