Developed from the classic MELJET designs by Melvin Rafi, this Boeing 777-200ER has been fine-tuned by David Grindele to function reliably in FSX. The 777-200ER (known for its extended range and twin-engine configuration) adds modern touches through updated air files and configuration files. These adjustments enhance handling and give you a stable aircraft, while retaining the classic visual elements of MELJET models.

Enhancements and Features

Modifications to the original air file ensure proper flight performance, adapting the aircraft from older flight simulators to Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The updated handling remains faithful to the intended look and feel of the MELJET design. In addition, A2A 3D Lights and Redux compatibility is built in, so full 3D lighting effects become available when that separate add-on is installed.

Special features include functional engine cowlings that open for detailed maintenance views. To access these, press Shift + E. While parked, the jetway animation can also be triggered by pressing Ctrl + J, matching FSX’s default jetway interaction protocol. These details create a more immersive experience for ground operations.

This version has been primarily tested in FSX running on Windows Vista (32-bit) and Windows XP, ensuring stable operation in those environments.

Installation Instructions

1. Copy the included Aircraft folder to your “FSX/Simobjects/Airplane” directory.
2. Launch FSX, select MELJET under the aircraft manufacturer menu, then choose the desired American Pacific 777-200ER variant.
3. All essential components are enclosed, although a separate A2A 3D Lights & Redux add-on is required to enable the enhanced lighting effects.
