FSX / P3D mission

FSX Mail in the Thin High Sky Mission

Mail in the Thin High Sky recreates a 1929 southern Chile airmail run from Dawson Island, combining rugged Andes weather, thin-air altitude pressure, and classic Vickers biplane flying into a story-driven mission for FSX. Includes supporting route scenery, textures, and printable maps for navigation, and requires Plan-G for enhanced Google Maps-style tracking.

Mail in the Thin High Sky. Flying in the Andes during the 1920s and 30s was indeed as dangerous as bathing in a sea full of sharks. The sharks here were the Mountains, the changing weather, the hights and the lack of oxygen. Besides the pilots of the era were flying aircraft with rather small and not to powerful engines. This is a mission of the Air Mail Service in the southern tip of Chile around 1929. You will board your plane at Dawson Island where the Air Mail Reception Station 403 is located. All mail from Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina is received here for local delivery. You will feel the cold wind on your face and battle the heights like so many aviators did with glory and finally return in your small Vickers biplane to a good cup of hot chocolate and rest. Tomorrow you fly again. By Gera Godoy Canova.

I recomend you Download " Plan-G” which uses the acclaimed and versatile Google Maps mapping tool. Any geographical feature which exists in Google Maps can be included in your flight plans, and all the features of Google Maps are fully available. Overlaid on the Google Map are the necessary navigation features extracted from FS - controlled airspace, airports, navaids, VRPs, etc., with automatic switching at lower zoom levels to avoid clutter. Use it with all flights

Set Up:

1) Make a Directory called "cHILE MAIL" move the two directories called "SCENERY" and "TEXTURE" to it.

2) Place the finished "CHILE mail" Directory in FSX/Addon Scenery Directory. Now go to FSX and jump to the Menu and ADD the Directory to the list Scenery.

3) Print the .JPG MAPs for flight reference.

4) Move the Mail Route 32 folder to your FSX/Missions Directory.

5) Go to the OUTBACK Mission Menu and load the Mission.

You are now ready to start your flights.

Thank you for downloading my Mission and hope you enjoy your stay.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D mission
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place mission files

Missions go into FSX\Missions\ as a sub-folder. The folder must contain an XML file describing the mission.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

This guy brightens my life no end!

with his POI's on the side of mountains and in the sea.

I managed it by landing on the slopes and diving at the POI's in the sea.

I love his missions. Keep it up my friend.

PS. I did have a cup of Hot Chocolate when I finished the mission, great idea.
