FSX Crossland Moor Airfield Scenery

Crossland Moor Airfield brings a challenging hilltop strip above Huddersfield to life in FSX, featuring a steep, undulating runway, awkward approaches, and a dramatic drop-off at the 25 end, plus ambient field sounds and road traffic. It requires A Day on the Farm and A Day on the Farm-2 scenery and textures for full coverage.

Crossland Moor Airfield, UK. Companion to `A Day on the Farm' and `A Day on the Farm-2'. Crossland Moor is situated high up in the bleak Yorkshire moorlands above Huddersfield, England. It has an awkward approach to a long steep sloping undulating runway with a sheer drop at the end of 25 (looks like someone has already had a bit of trouble!). Complete with sound and road traffic. A great flight from here is a short trip over to Oxenhope, if you look at your GPS you can see it. But it's still difficult to find.

I have incuded extracts (with permission) from Bryan Lockyears book ` FARM STRIPS AND PRIVATE AIRFIELDS' guide.

In this latest update, all of the terrain settings are as accurate as possible, all the fields have sound (you will have to download the `Sounds Update' Seperately) and now you also have road traffic, its not brilliant but there's only so many hours in the day.

This is freeware and includes other peoples work so do not sell it.

Thats it enjoy your flying.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
