Learn how to unlock aircraft in X-Plane Mobile, restore paid access, fix locked planes and avoid unsafe “all planes unlocked” downloads.
To unlock aircraft in X-Plane Mobile, select a locked plane and activate the access option offered inside the app—typically a subscription, trial or recognised legacy purchase. Planes are not unlocked by missions or flight hours. If you have already paid, use Restore Purchases with the original Apple or Google account.
The aircraft catalogue and wording of each offer can vary by app build, platform and account history. Treat the access terms displayed inside X-Plane Mobile as authoritative rather than assuming that an older purchase model or someone else’s subscription applies to you. Can I get X-Plane Mobile with all planes unlocked?
There is no legitimate universal code, save file or modified setting that makes every X-Plane Mobile aircraft permanently free.
The app may offer access to a wider aircraft catalogue through a subscription or another in-app entitlement. That is the proper meaning of “all planes unlocked” when the displayed plan includes the fleet you want: the aircraft remain available according to that plan’s terms, not as permanently owned files.
Some X-Plane Mobile planes may be included without payment, but the exact free aircraft can differ between builds and offers. A free app download also does not mean that every aircraft is free. If a plane is selectable without a padlock or purchase prompt, you can use it after any required content has downloaded.

Can missions, tutorials or flight hours unlock free planes?
No. X-Plane Mobile does not normally unlock its paid aircraft through flight hours, landings, missions, experience points or tutorial completion. Tutorials teach you to operate an aircraft; they are not unlock challenges.
A mistake we see often is confusing a trial flight with an aircraft earned through progress. When the trial’s displayed limit ends, the plane remains locked unless the required access is active.
How do I unlock a locked plane in X-Plane Mobile?
Open the aircraft selector, choose the locked model and complete the access process presented for that aircraft.
- Connect to a reliable internet connection. Payment authorisation, entitlement checks and aircraft downloads may all require network access.
- Open the aircraft selector. Enter the flight setup area and select the plane showing a padlock. Exact menu labels can differ between versions.
- Read the offer carefully. Check whether it is a trial, recurring subscription or recognised earlier purchase, and confirm which aircraft it covers.
- Complete the transaction through the device. Use the Apple Account or Google account under which you want the entitlement recorded. Do not enter store credentials into a third-party unlock page.
- Return to X-Plane Mobile. Leave the app online while it confirms access and downloads any aircraft data.
- Restore instead of paying twice. If you already own the displayed entitlement, use Restore Purchases where offered and sign in with the original store account.

Why is an aircraft still locked after I paid?
A plane that remains locked after payment usually indicates an account mismatch, an inactive transaction, failed entitlement validation or an incomplete content download.
- Verify the transaction status. Check that the purchase or subscription completed successfully and is not pending, declined, expired, cancelled or refunded.
- Check the store account. Use the same Apple Account or Google account that made the purchase. Changing devices does not transfer access if the new device is signed into a different account.
- Check the platform. Do not assume an entitlement bought through one mobile ecosystem transfers to another. X-Plane Mobile is also separate from desktop X-Plane, as covered in our explanation of X-Plane Mobile on iPad and iPhone.
- Reconnect and restore. Establish a stable connection, use Restore Purchases where available, then fully close and reopen the app. Restoration retrieves an existing entitlement; it cannot create one that was never purchased.
- Finish pending downloads. Make sure the device has enough free storage and keep X-Plane Mobile open until the aircraft and supporting data have finished downloading.
- Install a compatible update. An outdated app may fail to recognise newer account or content data. Update through the normal device channel, then try restoration again.
- Reinstall only as a last resort. Reinstallation may remove downloaded scenery, aircraft data and local settings. Preserve anything the app allows you to back up before removing it.
If the transaction is confirmed but restoration still fails, use the support route provided inside the app or by the device’s transaction service. Keep the order reference, platform, aircraft name and exact error message available, but never post full payment details publicly. Do not buy the same access a second time merely to test it.
Are “X-Plane unlocked” apps and i unlocker tools safe?
No third-party unlocker can legitimately add an Apple or Google purchase entitlement to your account.
Search pages claiming they can “unlock away” every padlock, or advertising an “i unlocker”, “unlock X” generator, modified APK or altered IPA, are not recognised X-Plane access methods. We do not host or recommend cracked mobile packages.
- A survey, activation-code generator or local file cannot write a valid purchase into your mobile-store account.
- A modified app may contain credential theft, unwanted advertising or other malicious code hidden behind the promised aircraft unlock.
- Unofficial builds can stop working after licence checks or app updates and may corrupt downloaded content or settings.
- Requests to provide your Apple, Google or simulator password, install an unknown configuration profile, or disable device security are clear warning signs.
Use only the access controls presented inside the genuine X-Plane Mobile app. If cost is the concern, use the aircraft marked as included or any trial explicitly offered rather than installing an “all planes unlocked” download.
Can desktop X-Plane aircraft be added to X-Plane Mobile?
No. Desktop aircraft packages cannot be copied into X-Plane Mobile, and owning X-Plane 11, X-Plane 12 or a desktop add-on does not unlock a mobile counterpart.
Copying an aircraft folder or its .acf file onto a phone or tablet will not make it appear in the mobile aircraft selector. Does “Real Flight Simulator unlock all planes” apply to X-Plane?
No. If you mean the separate app named Real Flight Simulator, its aircraft catalogue, purchases and restoration system are independent of X-Plane Mobile.
An X-Plane entitlement will not unlock aircraft there, and access bought for that app will not transfer into X-Plane. Use the aircraft-access and purchase-restoration options inside the simulator you actually installed; third-party “unlock all planes” packages are not a legitimate substitute in either app.
