Lake Elmo’s instrument provision is compact: two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two of the four runway ends. Instrument arrivals are therefore confined to selected directions, with no alternative approach technology represented. The two runway alignments provide different available lengths; at 3,504 ft, Runway 14/32 offers 1,008 ft more than Runway 04/22, making the shorter alignment the more restrictive in distance.
South St Paul and New Richmond have chart sets comparable in size to Lake Elmo’s, while Anoka County/Blaine and St Paul Downtown have broader coverage; Minneapolis–St Paul’s set is larger again. The Green Bay and Twin Cities sectionals add wider visual-navigation context, while the Minneapolis–St Paul Terminal Area Chart supplies a more focused view of the surrounding area than the airport-specific instrument procedures.
