Procedure coverage

Buckley’s chart set is strongly weighted towards departures, with ten departure procedures against three instrument approaches. The ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser approaches all serve one runway end, concentrating published instrument arrivals on a single direction and leaving the opposite end without an approach. Runway 14/32 provides 11,006 ft of longitudinal distance for aircraft with longer runway requirements, but there is no second runway alignment.

Surrounding chart context

Denver International has substantially broader procedure coverage, while Centennial, Colorado Air and Space Port and Rocky Mountain Metro also publish larger chart sets than Buckley. Erie Municipal’s coverage is much thinner. The Denver and Wichita sectionals add broader visual context, while the Denver Terminal Area Chart supplies a more detailed view of the surrounding terminal area than the instrument procedures alone.

Common questions about KBKF

What charts are available for KBKF?

28 current FAA charts for Buckley Space Force Base, including 3 instrument approachs, 10 departure procedures, 13 arrival procedures, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KBKF?

Tower 121.0; Ground 121.6; ATIS 119.675. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KBKF?

Buckley Space Force Base has 1 runway. The longest is 14/32 at 11,006 ft by 150 ft, porous asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KBKF have an ILS approach?

Yes — 1 ILS procedure is published. In total KBKF has 3 published instrument approaches, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KBKF airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Buckley Space Force Base is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at KBKF?

Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.

How high is KBKF?

The field elevation is 5,663 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.

Is KBKF a towered airport?

Yes. Buckley Space Force Base has an operating control tower, within Denver Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

Are these KBKF charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
