Procedure coverage

Rocky Mountain Metro’s chart set is weighted heavily towards departures and standard terminal routes, while six approaches serve only three of the six runway ends. The mix includes ILS and localiser procedures alongside RNAV (GPS) and VOR options, giving both precision and non-precision coverage but leaving half the runway ends without a published approach.

Runways and surrounding coverage

The two parallel runways of 9,000 ft and 7,002 ft accommodate aircraft needing substantially more distance than the 3,600 ft runway can provide. Among nearby fields, Centennial has similarly broad chart coverage, Denver International is much more extensively covered, and Erie Municipal is notably thinner; Vance Brand and Buckley sit between those extremes. The Cheyenne and Denver sectionals add wider VFR context, while the Denver Terminal Area Chart provides a more detailed view of the immediate metropolitan area.

Common questions about KBJC

What charts are available for KBJC?

49 current FAA charts for Rocky Mountain Metro, including 6 instrument approachs, 18 departure procedures, 21 arrival procedures, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KBJC?

Tower 123.95; Ground 121.7; ATIS 126.25; CTAF 118.6; Clearance delivery 132.6. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KBJC?

Rocky Mountain Metro has 3 runways. The longest is 12L/30R at 9,000 ft by 100 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KBJC have an ILS approach?

Yes — 1 ILS procedure is published. In total KBJC has 6 published instrument approaches, of which 3 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KBJC airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Rocky Mountain Metro is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

How high is KBJC?

The field elevation is 5,673 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.

Is KBJC a towered airport?

Yes. Rocky Mountain Metro has an operating control tower, within Denver Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

Are these KBJC charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
