Procedure coverage

Phoenix Deer Valley’s chart set is weighted strongly towards departures: nine departure procedures and two obstacle departures sit alongside three approaches. All three approaches are RNAV (GPS), and they serve only two of the four runway ends, leaving instrument arrival coverage concentrated on one end of each parallel runway. The substantial length difference also matters: an aircraft needing more than 4,500 ft of runway has only 07R/25L available by length.

Local chart context

Scottsdale has a comparably broad procedure set, while Phoenix Sky Harbor’s coverage is much larger; Luke AFB is the thinnest-charted nearby field. The Phoenix Sectional supplies wider regional VFR context, while the Phoenix Terminal Area Chart adds a more detailed depiction of the Phoenix area.
