Hill AFB’s instrument procedures serve both ends of its single 13,500 ft runway, with two ILS and two localiser approaches among the five published approach charts. This gives procedure coverage in either runway direction, but no alternative runway alignment. Four departure procedures make the chart set nearly as focused on outbound routing as on instrument arrivals.
Ogden-Hinckley, five nautical miles north, has chart coverage comparable in scale to Hill AFB. Salt Lake City International’s set is much broader, while Brigham City Regional, South Valley Regional and Bolinder Field/Tooele Valley have markedly thinner coverage. The Salt Lake City Sectional adds wider-area VFR context, while the Terminal Area Chart provides a more detailed view around the airport than the instrument procedure charts.
