Procedure coverage

West Houston’s two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve opposite ends of Runway 15/33, giving each direction a published instrument procedure. Approaches form only a small part of a chart set dominated by departure and arrival procedures. The single 3,953 ft runway provides no alternative alignment, and aircraft requiring a longer take-off or landing distance cannot use the available length.

Surrounding chart context

Houston Executive, David Wayne Hooks Memorial and Houston/Southwest have chart totals close to West Houston’s, while Sugar Land Regional has slightly broader coverage. George Bush Intercontinental/Houston stands apart with a substantially larger procedure set; none of the listed nearby fields has markedly thinner coverage. The Sectional and Terminal Area charts add visual airspace context, while the two helicopter-route sheets depict routing not provided by the instrument procedures.
