Go PROHouston’s dense urban footprint sits between the Brazos-side country and the lower Trinity basin, with Galveston Bay and the Gulf shoreline defining the chart’s southern character. Coverage extends north across the outer metropolitan area towards the wooded coastal plain, while the eastern and western margins take in a broad mix of bayous, wetlands, farmland and expanding development.
The generally low-relief landscape makes water and settlement patterns especially prominent. Galveston Bay, its adjoining inlets and the barrier coast provide strong visual structure to the south, contrasting with the increasingly inland terrain north and west of Houston. This is a standalone Terminal Area Chart with no adjoining sheet of the same type.
The Houston Helicopter Route Chart covers the same area with material tailored to rotorcraft operations in the metropolitan region. The corresponding Sectional Aeronautical Chart places Houston and the upper Gulf Coast within a much broader regional view, making it better suited to routes extending beyond the terminal area. This chart instead keeps the focus tightly on Houston, Galveston Bay and their immediate surroundings.
