Zamperini Field’s instrument provision covers only two of its four fixed-wing runway ends. The mix of ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures offers several guidance methods, but not approach coverage from every runway direction. Its parallel runways also differ markedly in length: any aircraft requiring more than 3,000 ft is limited to the 5,001 ft runway.
The 12-chart set is broadly comparable in scale with Hawthorne’s 15 charts and Los Alamitos’ 10. Coverage is much deeper at Los Angeles International, with 103 charts, and remains broader at Long Beach and Santa Monica, with 31 and 24 respectively. For visual flying, the Los Angeles Sectional supplies wider-area context, while the Terminal Area Chart provides a more detailed view of the surrounding terminal region.
