Kona International Airport Fix

Kona International Airport (PHKO) parking at Kailua-Kona gets a practical AFCAD update for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, enlarging undersized gates so user aircraft fit comfortably. Improved parking sizes help ATC assign suitable stands after landing, while keeping the layout consistent and allowing gate selection to follow aircraft parking codes.

This a fix for my PHKO AFCAD file for FSX. I made the gates too small (apart from the three large gates) for user aircraft to park. I have made them a bit larger, and now ATC is able to assign any gate to you when you land (Depending on your parking code of course). Delete the other AFCAD file you may have installed, and replace with this the new one.

Put the BGL file in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\Scenery.

Overwrite any existing files.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
