AFCAD File For ESGP

ESGP Göteborg City Airport (Save) AFCAD refreshes the FSX stock layout with corrected parking, taxiway signs, aprons, and airline-assigned gates for smoother AI operations. It adds an NDB approach to runway 01, includes a helipad, and updates the field from January 2010 charts and imagery to better match real-world procedures.

Goteborg City Airport, Sweden. Goteborg / Gothenburgh City Airport (Save AB) AFCAD to better reflect reality and allow AI traffic. By Ragnar Frid.

SRF ESGP Goteborg City (Save) Airport information:

  • Based on FSX stock airport.
  • Updated using Google Earth imagery and current (January 2010) published charts.
  • Parkings, taxi signs, aprons etc are corrected.
  • 3 main gates assigned to Ryanair, Wizz and Air Berlin.
  • Added NDB approach to Rwy 01.
  • Compatible with AI traffic (tested using WoAI).
  • One helipad added..
  • Not claimed to be 100% accurate.

Recommended install, copy the bgl file into your FSX "Addon Scenery\Scenery folder".

Goteborg City Airport is currently serviced by Ryanair and Wizz Air and GA / business. The airport is a former airbase, hence the odd look and lots of closed taxiways. It is also used to house police and ambulance helicopters.

This file is based on stock airport, just a few generic buildings were added, focus is not on the looks but on the functionality, both for the user and AI traffic. The helipad was placed since there was a helicopter parked in that exact spot on the Google Earth air photo. (And I thought it might be good to have a helipad at this airport since I'm also working on all heliports in Sweden.)

On Google Earth runway 04/22 is crossed, and I've seen sources claiming that runway to be closed. However, according to the published charts the runway is available on request. Note however that there is not really a good taxi network for that runway and it is not set up properly so that the AI can use it. (no turnaround at 04 end for example) Keep that in mind if you feel like adding parkings for AI at the east (former military) part of the airport.

Gates use RAMP_GA class to not have ground vehicles around. There are very few active ground vehicles at this airport in reality, and no jetways. Gates 1-6 are drive-through in reality.

Created using ADE9X (FSDeveloper, Scruffyduck) - If you edit this file using AFCAD you will most likely get strange results.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place AFCAD file

    AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
