AFCAD File For YBMK

Mackay Airport (YBMK) gets an updated AFCAD for FSX, refining taxiways so AI use turning nodes on Runways 14 and 32, rebuilding aprons to current layout, and expanding parking with realistic stand designations. It also adds missing helipads, a rescue pad, a correctly placed fire station, and a nearby hospital pad labeled YBM1.

An updated AFCAD for Mackay Airport, Queensland, Australia with minor fixes. By Richard John Buhre.

Overview of Mackay Airport, Queensland.

Becoming tired of my local airport as it exists in FSX I decided to do something about it.

A Few minor changes to my earlier Version .Minor taxiway revisions and AI Aircraft now use the Turning Nodes on 14 and 32 instead of running off onto the grass. The default aprons were correct for 20 years ago and the parking positions few even for then. I've rebuilt the aprons to current standards and have added parking using information from the Mackay Port Authority who own and run it and from Google Earth. (The Port Authority no longer own or run this airport.) The buildings are mostly the default ones although some have been moved to clear space for the expanded aprons. Parking designations are derived from the Port Authority's maps.

I have also added Helipads that were missing from the default scenery 1 and 2 near the south apron and taxiways and the Rescue Pad in the northeast apron. Also added a fire station in the correct place but it looks nothing like the real one.

I have also created a separate helipad in the approximate location of the Mackay Base Hospital Helipad which I've given a false designator of YBM1

This isn't much but it has at least the right parking and will, I hope do until someone with more skills like the FTX ORBIX team can get something going.

INSTALLATION: Just move the Mackay_YBMK folder to the add on scenery folder and activate.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place AFCAD file

AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
