FS2004 TIA Lockheed L10A Electra

Trans Island Airways livery textures recreate the Lockheed L-10A Electra’s short South Island feeder career, capturing the look of New Zealand’s last Electra in regular service before its 1959 Christchurch crash landing and later museum restoration. Designed for FS2004, this repaint requires FSDesign Berlin’s Lockheed L10-A Electra model.

Textures only for FSDesign Berlin's Lockheed L10-A Electra, in Trans Island Airways livery. Trans Island Airways was a small feeder line that operated in the South Island of New Zealand. They operated the last Electra known in regular service in NZ. After a crash landing, it was taken out of service, and reconstructed and is now on display in an Air Museum in NZ in Union Airways livery, as ZK-AFD. By Dale De Luca.

These textures are for Trans Island Airways. TIA was a small South Island Airline. TIA had been formed in 1956 by a group of Oamaru businessmen. The plan was to operate a feeder service from provincial areas. They started operation with a new Beechcraft D-18S, and the purchase of a used Lockheed Electra L10-A. The Electra was purchased from Interstate Aircraft Co. in Kansas City. It was originally built in August 1939 and registered as NC21735 to Standard Oil Co. of New York. While in service to TIA, the Electra was damaged beyond repair during a crash landing at Christchurch NZ on February 18, 1959. It has been restored and is on display at the Museum of Transport in Auckland NZ, in the Union Air NZ livery as ZK-AFD.
