Originally founded in 1946 with a DeHavilland D.H. 89 "Dragon Rapide" aircraft, the DeHavilland D.H. 104 "Dove" and the Vickers VC.1 "Viking" were added by 1947. The D.H. 89 was retired by 1948 with the D.H. 104's gone by 1955. The "Viking" served the routes well until at least 1955 when the routes were all taken over by Vickers 735 "Viscount" aircraft. By the time of the monarchy was overthrown in 1958, the "Viking" was out of service and the D.H. 104 was flying with the Royal Iraqi Air Force as a V.I.P. aircraft.
