Langebaanweg Air Force Base (FALW) brings South Africa’s West Coast training hub to life with accurate airfield layout and base details suited to circuit work and local flying. Built from default libraries for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it includes updated airport data and requires FSX Acceleration for the best results.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Scenery Langebaanweg AFB, South Africa. The base is used for pilot training and hosts 526 squadron. The Pilatus Astra is the trainer used and frequently spotted in the sky above Langebaan. The base is situated in the beautiful West Coast area. Planning for the building of an aerodrome at Langebaanweg started in 1942. During 1942/43 Colonel Hughes of the SAIC started surveying the area for the building of the aerodrome which would be called Air Force Station Congella - Langebaan Section. This scenery was made with default FSX libraries. It will work best with FSX Acceleration. Free library objects used from Jaxan Prier, Guy Diotte, Michael Carr and Jim Dhaenens. By Jacques Botha.

Instructions :

1.Unzip "Langebaanweg.zip" to a temp folder.

2.Copy the "FALW" folder to your "FSX/scenery" folder.

3.Copy the "AFX_FALW_ALT.bgl" file to your "FSX/scenery/world/scenery" folder.

4.Run FSX.

5.On the main page go to "settings".

6.Now click on "scenery library".

7.Now click on "Add area" and search for the scenery folder.

8.Double click on the scenery folder and look for the"FALW" folder.

9.NB !!!!!! click on this folder only once ! and then click on "OK".

10.The scenery will now load !

11.Go to free flight and choose "FALW" to start your flight !

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
