Bangor’s seven approach charts serve both ends of its single conventional runway, so the instrument coverage is not confined to one direction. The mix combines ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) procedures, with CAT II/III minima included for one ILS. That gives the chart set greater procedural depth than the nearby fields, whose published collections are markedly smaller.
At 11,440 ft, runway 15/33 provides substantial usable length for aircraft requiring a long runway, while the separate 100 ft helipad has its own defined operating area. Among nearby airports, Old Town and Bar Harbor have the broadest chart coverage, although each has fewer than half Bangor’s total; Dexter, Pittsfield and Belfast have thinner sets.
