Hilton Head’s five instrument approach charts serve both ends of its sole runway, so the published coverage is not confined to one direction. The mix of RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser procedures also provides more than one form of instrument guidance. With one 5,000 ft runway, there is no alternative alignment, and aircraft requiring greater runway length fall outside the field’s practical scope.
Nearby chart coverage varies markedly. Beaufort MCAS and Savannah/Hilton Head International have substantially broader procedure sets, while Beaufort Executive is much thinner; Hunter AAF and Lowcountry Regional are closer to Hilton Head in overall chart coverage. The Charlotte and Jacksonville sectional charts add broader visual-navigation context beyond the airport diagram and procedure-specific instrument charts.
