Go PROJacksonville anchors a sheet stretching from the central Florida peninsula across the state’s Atlantic and Gulf coasts, then north into southern Georgia and the edge of southeastern Alabama. It takes in the Florida Panhandle, the Big Bend coast and extensive Atlantic waters east of the peninsula. Much of the land is low coastal plain, with forests, wetlands and numerous lakes shaping the view below. Farther north and west, the landscape gradually becomes more rolling while remaining well removed from major mountain terrain.
The surrounding sheets reflect the region’s main route directions. A course continuing west across the Panhandle moves onto the New Orleans chart, while one running northwest into Georgia and Alabama meets Atlanta. Charlotte provides the continuation to the northeast, including routes beyond coastal Georgia, and Miami carries south-easterly journeys farther down the Florida peninsula. Together, these joins make the Jacksonville sheet a central link between Florida, the Gulf states and the south-eastern Atlantic coast.
