Approach and runway coverage

Charleston Executive’s approach coverage reaches three of its four runway ends, leaving one end without a published instrument procedure. The mix combines ILS and localiser guidance with three RNAV (GPS) procedures, providing both ground-based and satellite-based approach options. The two runway alignments offer markedly different available lengths: any planned runway-length requirement above 4,313 ft excludes 04/22, while 09/27 extends to 5,350 ft.

Nearby chart coverage

Charleston AFB/International has by far the broadest nearby procedure set. Lowcountry Regional has the next-largest collection, although still substantially fewer, while Mount Pleasant Regional-Faison Field, Summerville and Berkeley County have much thinner coverage. The Charlotte Sectional adds wider visual-planning context around Charleston Executive that is not conveyed by the airport’s terminal procedure charts.
