Approach coverage across every runway

Tampa International’s three runways have instrument approaches serving all six ends, so coverage is not concentrated on one alignment. The combination of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures provides several forms of guidance, with two ILS procedures carrying CAT II/III minima. The 11,002 ft runway is 4,003 ft longer than the shortest, creating a material distinction for aircraft requiring more take-off or landing distance than the 6,999 ft strip provides.

Local chart context

Among nearby fields, St Pete-Clearwater International has the closest comparable breadth of published procedures, while Peter O Knight’s chart set is markedly thinner. The overlapping Jacksonville and Miami sectionals provide wider VFR context, complemented by the more focused Tampa-Orlando Terminal Area Chart.
