This add-on provides a custom repaint of Iberia's very first Airbus A340-600, registration EC-INO, delivered in 2003 and honoring Antoni Gaudí. It is designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and features intricate exterior weathering along with adapted night textures for the window layouts. Created by Mario Monfrecola, this package requires the freeware Thomas Ruth A340-600 base model (TOMA346.ZIP) to function.

Distinctive Visual Enhancements

Developers Thomas Ruth and Mario Monfrecola have collaborated on this repaint to capture the authentic look of the Iberia livery. The fuselage includes subtle dirt effects around the airframe, while the nightmap has been adjusted to align with the individualized passenger window layout. This approach delivers enhanced realism in the simulator, particularly when flying at dusk or during nighttime operations.

Historical Notes on the Aircraft

The A340-600 is a stretched, four-engine member of the Airbus A340 family, well-known for its extended range and substantial passenger capacity. Iberia, recognized as Spain’s flag carrier, utilized models like EC-INO for extensive intercontinental routes. The real-life aircraft shown here, named Antoni Gaudí in reference to the famous Catalan architect, carried influential Spanish heritage across the globe.

Preparation Before Use

  • Download and install the Thomas Ruth A340-600 base package (TOMA346.ZIP). Ensure the original Airbus livery remains intact.
  • Confirm that you have Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Service Pack 2 (SP2) applied in Microsoft Flight Simulator X for compatibility.
  • It is recommended to disable DirectX 10 preview mode to avoid potential display anomalies with this repaint.

Repaint Installation Process

  1. Extract the texture.EC-INO folder into your Tom_A340-600 directory.
  2. Open your aircraft.cfg file within the Tom_A340-600 folder and paste the following lines, ensuring the [fltsim.x] sequence number is correct:

Credit to the Creators

This repaint was painstakingly developed by Mario Monfrecola utilizing the base work by Thomas Ruth. Both developers designed the visual details and tested them within Microsoft Flight Simulator X environments to ensure accurate rendering. In case of any missing texture elements, verify that the default Airbus textures from the original installation are still present, since this repaint draws on them for certain shared components.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
