Avista Inc., Platteville, Wis., is expanding operations in Wisconsin and plans to hire 40 more engineers, a move the company said is a result of four years of growth, particularly in commercial avionics and government and military programs. Avista has started developing new office space near its headquarters building to support the expanded payroll, including conference meeting space and a new secure software/hardware engineering lab.

ATHENS, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Greece wants a foreign airline to invest in Olympic Airlines [OLY.UL] as part of its attempt to privatise the ailing carrier, Transport Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said in an interview published on Saturday. Greece has been trying for years to sell the airline, renamed from Olympic Airways, but repeated calls for interest from investors have yielded no results for the debt-ridden carrier.

TSA Administrator Kip Hawley noted on the blog that there is no time for agency personnel to answer passenger questions during the airport screening process. Screeners have no time to explain to passengers why they are asked to do certain things and can only demand that they follow orders. The blog, he said, provides a forum to explain processes and to allow passengers to suggest changes to the TSA checkpoint processes.

Eurocopter España bade farewell to 2007 with the sale of eleven new helicopters earmarked for various bodies within the Spanish Interior and Defence Ministries. As a result of these contracts, the Directorate General for Traffic (DGT) will be equipped with four AS355NP twin-engine multi-mission helicopters and two EC135 twin-engine multipurpose helicopters capable of instrument flights, which have become a world reference for police missions, with more than 600 units sold worldwide since they were first launched on the market in mid 1996. This agreement is worth approximately 20 million euros.
