Instrument coverage across four runway ends

Baton Rouge Metro has eight approach procedures serving four of its six runway ends, so instrument coverage is broad but not universal. Three ILS procedures provide precision coverage, while four RNAV (GPS) procedures and the VOR and localiser options give the set a varied conventional and satellite-based structure.

Runways, nearby coverage and VFR context

The 7,500 ft and 7,005 ft runways offer substantially more usable length than the 3,799 ft parallel runway; aircraft requiring more than 3,799 ft are therefore limited to the two longer strips. Lafayette’s ten-chart set is the closest nearby comparison in breadth, with Hammond’s eight also substantial; False River and Louisiana Regional each have much thinner five-chart sets. Two sectionals provide wider-area VFR context, while the New Orleans Terminal Area Chart adds more focused coverage and the Gulf Coast Helicopter Route Chart supplies helicopter-specific routing.
