McDonnell XF-85 Goblin recreates the experimental parasite fighter concept built to defend B-36 bombers on long-range missions, deploying from a trapeze for interception and then recovering by hooking back in, folding its wings, and stowing in the bomb bay. Includes a detailed model and virtual cockpit for FS2002 and FS2004.

The XF-85 parasite fighter was developed to protect B-36 bombers flying beyond the range of conventional escort fighters. If attacked by enemy aircraft, the bomber would lower the Goblin on a trapeze and release it to combat the attackers. After the enemy had been driven away, the parasite fighter would return to the bomber, hook onto the trapeze, fold its wings, and be lifted back into the bomb bay. by Kazunori Ito.

FS2004 add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
