FSX Icebergs Ahoy! Scenery

Icebergs Ahoy! places drifting iceberg flotillas off southern New Zealand for atmospheric maritime navigation in FSX, inspired by RNZAF Orion sightings near Stewart Island and south of Dunedin. The scenery supports search-and-orbit flying using the NZNV VOR radial, then coastal tracking toward Dunedin with lively details along the route.

"Icebergs Ahoy!"
The exact location of the icebergs is unknown. An RNZAF Orion report sighting icebergs approximately 35NM southeast of Stewart Island, New Zealand; with another floatilla approximately 50NM south of Dunedin. Start searching for the icebergs off Stewart Island first. The Orions flight plan was outbound on the 150 radial from the NZNV VOR (VOR/DME: Invercargill (NV) 116.80) Once found and a few orbits later it headed off on a 060 heading for the second reported position. After confirming the coordinates of the second set, they turned north and tracked the coast to Dunedin. Reports of dolphins along Dunedin coastline. Watch out for the US Navy in Dunedin harbour.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
