City Place Tower Scenery.

City Place Tower Scenery.

Cityplace is a neighborhood near what has come to be known as "Uptown" in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. It is located at the intersection of I-75 (Central Expressway) and Haskell Avenue. At 42-stories, Cityplace Tower is the tallest building in Dallas outside of downtown. The building lies almost directly under the flight path of runway 31R/13L of Dallas Love Field and makes for an excellent visual reference in IFR flight if landing from the South East.

The model was created with Gmax 1.2. The textures were hand drawn with Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7.04.

Many thanks to all the helpful people at FSDeveloper.com, especially Bill Learning, whose detailed replies to my questions helped me achieve the texture effects I wanted and to Robin Corn, whose easy to understand Gmax tutorials made it possible for me to even know where to start.

This model is provided free of charge and for your personal use. You may redistribute the model and its textures in other scenery projects provided that it is NOT part of a commercial (for-profit) scenery package. If it is included in other freeware scenery packages, please give credit to the original author.

You may NOT distribute the model or textures with any commercial (for-profit) scenery package without the author's written consent.

INSTALLATION:

1) Extract the contents of the ZIP file to a temporary directory (folder). 2) Copy the .BGL file to the "\Addon Scenery\scenery" folder. 3) Copy the .DDS files to the "\Addon Scenery\texture" folder.

In a default installation this would be:

"CityPlaceTower.BGL" to the folder: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery"

"CityPlaceTower.dds" "CityPlaceTower_lm.dds" "CityPlaceTower_spec.dds" to the folder: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\texture"

*IF* you installed Flight Simulator X in its default location (as shown above) you can simply run the small batch file (copyFiles.bat) to copy the files to their correct location after you've unzipped the archive. If Flight Simulator X is installed on a drive other than "C:" or to a non-default path, you will need copy the files manually.

NOTE TO VISTA USERS: The batch file will not work on Vista unless you have turned off "User Account Controls". Do that at your own discression.

The archive ctypltwr.zip has 8 files and directories contained within it.
