FSX Concorde Smoke Effects

Concorde engine smoke effects add a convincing exhaust trail to the Guzman/Swindle/Al Nouri Concorde compilation in Microsoft Flight Simulator X, enhancing visual realism during takeoff and cruise. Requires the XCONCORDE.ZIP package plus the XCONCORDEAIR.ZIP fix, and updates the aircraft smoke system with an included custom effect file.

Installation:

  • Open your Concorde "aircraft.cfg" file, find the [SMOKESYSTEM] section, and erase it. It does not display properly in FSX.
  • Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. below back into your Concorde "aircraft.cfg" file, replacing what you just deleted. (Then click 'file', then click 'save', of course).
  • Copy and paste the enclosed "fx_smoke_f6.fx" file into your FSX "Effects" folder. (It's probably there already).
  • Press your "I" key while flying your Concorde and enjoy the smoke!

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
