Updated Airfield Layout and Facilities

You will find newly designated Military_Cargo and Military_Combat parking spots to match the base’s authentic usage. This detail supports more accurate aircraft placement for various operations, including those involving fighter jets and large transport planes. The developer has inserted a fire station equipped with fire trucks, refined the taxiways to ensure proper alignment, and redeveloped key aprons for smoother ground handling.

Reworked Structures and Ground Objects

Many default buildings have been removed and replaced with carefully positioned facilities. Moreover, static automobiles and parked fuel trucks appear in key zones for extra realism. The base perimeter features parking lots, light poles, and a selection of support vehicles to represent the daily hustle around this critical Air Force complex. Hill AFB is renowned for servicing advanced jets, and these additions underscore the real-world atmosphere of the airfield.

Compatibility and Supplementary Enhancements

This scenery incorporates default FSX library objects, so no additional downloads or external libraries are needed. It also works in concert with Just Flight’s Military Plus Packs, Ultimate Terrain, and FSGenesis landclass (though these extras are entirely optional). If you prefer a process-aligned environment, you will be glad to know the developer followed AirNav diagrams and Google Earth depictions, ensuring that runways, taxi routes, and vehicle placements all match official data wherever possible.

Development Tools and Future Plans

Jim Cook used Flight 1’s AFX program along with Instant Scenery to craft this updated layout. With the time available, he intends to tackle additional military airfields to bring them up to a similar standard. This focus on accurate depiction aims to offer FSX users an immersive experience and a more faithful representation of military flight operations.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
