Go PROChicago’s dense metropolitan core, its Lake Michigan waterfront and the broad spread of northern Illinois define this sheet. Coverage reaches well beyond the city into flatter suburban and agricultural country to the west, while extending north across the Wisconsin state line and east over the lake. The contrast is pronounced: a continuous urban landscape and major transport corridors beside open water, giving way to the level plains of the interior. At roughly 78 nautical miles across, the chart holds the central city and much of its wider metropolitan setting on one specialised sheet.
The same area also appears on the relevant Sectional Aeronautical Chart and Terminal Area Chart. The sectional places Chicago within a broader regional picture, including more of the surrounding Midwest. The terminal chart provides a closer treatment of the busy metropolitan aviation environment. This Helicopter Route Chart has the most specialised role of the three, presenting the Chicago area specifically for rotary-wing flying rather than serving as a general regional or terminal-area sheet.
