Connect Navigraph to MSFS 2024 on Xbox through the EFB, learn why Simlink cannot run on console, and fix chart authorisation problems.
Yes. You can connect a Navigraph account to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Xbox Series X|S through the simulator’s built-in EFB and supported aircraft integrations. You cannot install Navigraph Simlink on Xbox, so an external phone, tablet or computer will not receive live aircraft position directly from the console.
How does Navigraph work on Xbox?
On Xbox, Navigraph works through software already built into the simulator or aircraft, not through an Xbox app or background utility. The EFB or aircraft panel requests permission to access your Navigraph account, then displays the charts and related data supported by that particular integration.
This is account authorisation rather than a full connection between the console and every Navigraph device. Our explanation of how Charts, SimBrief and aircraft integrations fit into MSFS 2024 covers the wider setup.
| Method | What works on Xbox | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| MSFS 2024 built-in EFB | Navigraph charts and the flight-plan context provided by the EFB | Features are limited to those implemented in the EFB |
| Supported aircraft EFB | Charts inside the cockpit, sometimes with a moving-aircraft overlay | Support depends on the aircraft’s Xbox build and may require separate authorisation |
| Charts on a phone, tablet or computer | Chart viewing and cloud-synchronised flight-plan information | No automatic live position from the Xbox console |
| Navigraph Simlink | Nothing directly on Xbox | Simlink is a computer companion application and cannot be installed on the console |
How do you authorise Navigraph in MSFS 2024 on Xbox?
You authorise each supported EFB or aircraft panel from its own Navigraph sign-in prompt.
- Open the EFB or aircraft chart panel. Look for its Navigraph account, charts or sign-in option.
- Start authorisation. Follow the displayed prompt, which may provide a QR code or a short device code.
- Approve access on another device. Use a phone, tablet or computer to sign into the correct Navigraph account and approve the request. It does not have to be on the same local network as the Xbox.
- Return to the simulator. Allow the panel to refresh; if it remains on the sign-in screen, close and reopen that panel.
- Repeat where necessary. An aircraft-specific EFB may need its own authorisation even when the main MSFS 2024 EFB already works.
An active subscription covering charts is required for subscription chart functions. A mistake we see constantly is treating one successful sign-in as a simulator-wide switch: the built-in EFB and an aircraft’s tablet can store separate authorisation tokens.
Can Xbox send live aircraft tracking to Navigraph Charts?
No—Xbox cannot feed live position data to the standalone Navigraph Charts app through Simlink. Simlink normally obtains simulator data through a PC connection, and the console does not allow that companion program to run or expose an ordinary SimConnect connection to it.
Our guide to how SimConnect passes data to companion applications explains why the normal PC moving-map setup does not transfer to Xbox.
A supported in-simulator EFB may still show your aircraft on its own chart because that panel can read data from inside MSFS 2024. This does not make the aircraft symbol appear automatically in the separate Charts app on your tablet or computer. You can still use that external device for charts and flight plans, but you must follow your progress manually.
Why is Navigraph not working on Xbox?
Most Xbox Navigraph failures are caused by expired authorisation, the wrong account, missing chart entitlement or an unsupported aircraft integration.
- The sign-in succeeds but no charts appear: confirm that the authorised account has chart access, then sign out and authorise it again.
- Charts work in the main EFB but not in an aircraft: open that aircraft’s own account page and repeat the authorisation process.
- There is no Navigraph option: install the simulator and aircraft content updates offered on Xbox. If the option is still absent, that aircraft’s Xbox version probably does not provide the integration; a PC tablet mod cannot be installed as a substitute.
- The authorisation code fails: generate a new code and approve it promptly. Also confirm that MSFS online services and the Xbox network connection are operating.
- The external moving map remains static: this is the expected Simlink limitation, not an account fault.
If the account appears connected but the built-in panel is blank or reports unavailable charts, use our checks for MSFS 2024 EFB chart and authorisation failures.
Can you import SimBrief flight plans on Xbox?
Yes—MSFS 2024 on Xbox can use SimBrief flight plans, but SimBrief import is separate from chart authorisation and live tracking. Using the same Navigraph account does not guarantee that every aircraft’s avionics will load the plan automatically.
Create the plan on another device, import or synchronise it with the MSFS 2024 EFB, then transfer it to the aircraft using the method that aircraft supports. The EFB flight-plan import procedure and aircraft-transfer caveats are covered separately.
