Go PROMemphis sits at the heart of this sheet, where Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi meet along the Mississippi River. Coverage stretches from the Arkansas Delta around Brinkley, across western Tennessee towards Jackson, and south to the Oxford area of northern Mississippi. The river corridor and broad alluvial plain dominate the western half, while rolling, wooded uplands become more prominent east and south-east of the city.
The Terminal Area Chart keeps its focus on the Memphis metropolitan area and the surrounding river corridor, presenting this busy central portion at a closer scale than the corresponding Sectional Aeronautical Chart. That makes it the more compact reference for studying the terminal environment and nearby route structure. The sectional covering the same ground places Memphis within a much wider part of the Mid-South, giving better continuity for routes extending beyond western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas and northern Mississippi.
