Unreal Aviation Tandem Aerofoil BoatUnreal Aviation Tandem Aerofoil Boat

Description
Unreal Aviation Tandem Aerofoil Boat Wing-in-Ground-Effect vehicle for recreational use in sheltered waters. Not a problem in FS as even the oceans are calm. ;-) Although it is true that WIG craft perform better the larger they get and need to be somewhere in the region of 400 tons plus to be capable of crossing oceans, there is something to be said for this much smaller class. Faster than any speedboat or hovercraft yet needing no more skill to pilot than either. The only limitation being its inability to climb more than a few inches above the water plus the need for the calm waters of slow rivers, lakes and estuaries. The tandem wing type is the smallest and simplest of the WIG craft and although a much better performance is available from the now well-established reverse-delta, twin-hull layout, the T.A.B is still the easiest to build and was designed with amateur construction in mind.

Cessna 337 Super SkymasterCessna 337 Super Skymaster

Description
Cessna 337 Super Skymaster Initially planned for the 1962 Model Year, the Cessna Skymaster 336 debuted in 1964 in the same general configuration as later models, but with fixed landing gear. The 336 had an unfortunate angle of incidence in the wing, which made the pilot feel as if he were flying along with the nose too high. Only 195 were produced. The next model year, the 337 Super Skymaster was released with retractable landing gear, but without any increase in powerplants. The wing problem was remedied and the 337 was priced the same as the 336. The turbocharged version was introduced in 1967 and the pressurized version was added in 1973. The turbo dropped out of the line after the 1971 model but came back as a 1978. These in the 1980 model line were the last Skymasters to be produced by Cessna. Over their history, there were only 357 Pressurized Skymasters and 1,951 of the turbo and the standard Skymasters produced. As of November 1998, there are only 57 of the 357 pressurized Skymasters still registered with the FAA. It would appear that you will soon be flying one of a dying breed. The original price of the 1980 turbo Skymaster f.a.f (fly away factory) was $121,000 and for the pressurized version, $159,000. The special "II" models, which added additional avionics also, added about $19,000 to the base price.

P-6 Hawk Feather and Claw in flightP-6 Hawk Feather and Claw in flight

Description
The P-6 Hawk series resulted from the installation of the new 600 hp Curtiss V-1570 Conqueror liquid-cooled engine in what were essentially P-1C airframes. The variant which is best remembered today is the P-6E, which IMHO was one of the best-looking biplane fighters ever manufactured. The Curtiss V-1570 Conqueror engine was a evolutionary descendent of the Curtiss D-12 which powered the P-1 Hawk. The direct ancestor of the Conqueror was the unsuccessful Curtiss V-1400 engine which powered the P-2.

Beechcraft Twin-Prop in flightBeechcraft Twin-Prop in flight

Description
Beechcraft Super "G"18 "E" "G" & "H" Super 18's have a higher cabin which meant the fuselage top came over the top of the horizontal stabilizer and that the cabin windows would be larger, different shaped eyebrow windows, different shaped nose, squared off wing tips, and new landing gear, wheels & brakes. However, to complicate model identification, many improvements were incorporated into earlier models through STC modifications. The only way to be certain of the original Beech 18 model is to ascertain its Beech c/n and model from the dataplate or records. Maximum gross weight ranges (numerous variables affect exact allowed maximum gross weight). Pre-war 6500 lbs. to 7200 lbs. Wartime production 7660 lbs. to 8727 lbs. Post-war civil D18S, C-45H and C-45J 8500 lbs. to 9500 lbs. Super E18S, G18S & H18 taildragger 9300 lbs. to 9900 lbs. Factory tri-gear H18 9900 lbs.

The Shorts 360 QantasThe Shorts 360 Qantas

Description
The Shorts 360 is a stretched, larger capacity and improved 36 seat derivative of the 30 seat Shorts 330. The relative success of the rugged Shorts 330 prompted the Northern Ireland based manufacturer to study and subsequently develop a stretched derivative. Shorts announced it was developing the new airliner in mid 1980, and a prototype 360 flew for the first time almost a year later on June 1 1981. The first production 360 flew in August 1982 and certification was awarded on September 3 that year. The 360 entered service with Suburban Airlines in the US in November 1982.

T-6 SNJ Trainer The North American Texan was built in greater numbers than most of the aircraft that it trained pilots for, or against! There were 17,096 Texans built by North American Aviation and the foreign companies that built the Texan under license overseas. The Texan served in all three of the modern era conflicts - World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. The Texan also saw action in dozens of brush-fire wars around the world including Algeria, the Congo, Biafra, the Middle East and throughout Latin America. Despite its impressive war record, the Texan is best known as a trainer. There have been a great many other aircraft developed for the trainer role; however, only the T-6 Texan is known by the name, PILOT MAKER...

Description
AEROTRANSPORTES LITORAL ARGENTINO NAMC YS-11A 309 - LV-JII In 1968 Austral and Aerotransportes Litoral Argentino, acting as associated companies purchased three YS-11As.- They were registered LV-JII (c/n 2086), LV-JIJ (c/n 2087) and LV-JLJ (c/n 2088).- These aicraft were used in the busy Austral route from Buenos Aires to Montevideo and mainly in some low density A.L.A.'s routes where neither the traffic nor the aiports were suitable for the new Bac One Elevens, in this situation were the Parana, Paso de los Libres, Goya and Reconquista routes.- By the end of their carreers the YS-11s inaugurated new routes to Junín, General Pico, Tandil and Necochea but the new services failed as the YS-11 was too big for the little traffic generated by this cities.- Finally by the end of the 70s they were sold to L.A.P.A..- This airline soon replaced them with Shorts 330, that was a more suitable equipment for the routes operated.-

1941 Culver Cadet1941 Culver Cadet

Description
1941 Culver Cadet Only 368 or so of these birds were built in the early 1940's. Back then metal was rationed because of the war effort. However, the fever to build efficient personal airplanes was still high. During this time Al Mooney designed the M12 Cadet airplane for the Culver Aircraft Co., and used the only material available, wood. The Culver Cadet is one of the best performing light planes ever built. Off the Wichita, Kansas production line in 1941 the two place, side by side, low wing Cadet was powered by a 75 hp Continental aircraft engine. With this modest power the Cadet cruised at 120 miles per hour.

Fairchild 24 next to control towerFairchild 24 next to control tower

Description
The Fairchild 24 was a big plane, as you know if you have ever seen one. They came with two versions of engines, a straight six as this model, and with a radial engine Wasp powerplant, which gave the Fairchild 24 a ‘bush plane’ look. The landing gear are a feature that stand out prominently. They were designed for rough field landings and hard bounces. In the time of the production of the Fairchild, a lot of landing fields were still exactly that, fields. You would land in the grass and often came across pot holes and other such bits of rough terrain. I don’t know why, but usually the Fairchilds fitted with the Ranger straight six had wheel pants or skirts, while the Wasp radial engine powered Fairchilds usually didn’t have skirts fitted at all. Shot taken at Riverside Muni KRAL.
