DC-3 Airways [DC-3 Airways is a virtual airline] has announced its World Rally for all DC-3 pilots to join in for a friendly, fifteen flight competition in which all enthusiast will participate in a global flight covering 6 continents in period of 17 days.

There is no entry fee for the event but mandatory registration. This will be an interesting and amazing journey for all the pilots. The competition will begin on 10 October where all pilots will be flying there Douglas DC-3 aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator software program (FS2002/FS2004) from comfort of their home on their computers.

This is not a completion of speed hence fastest pilot doesn’t win but the pilot who will perform closest to average of all the pilots will be declared as winner after completing his flight around the globe till 26 October 2003. This is to increase multiplayer flying simulation awareness in all.

For all those who share the love for Douglas DC-3 aircraft and its variants this will be lot fun where pilots will be able to learn and explore the world together.

The DC-3 is a 21 seat loaded with twin 1,200-horsepower Pratt & Whitney engines. It was commercial plane made by Douglas Aircraft Company in 1936. DC-3 has many names, the manufacturer called it "Skytrain", airline called it "The Three." While in US Air Force it was known as “C-47”, Navy “R4D” but pilots who flew this amazing bird named it Dizzy Three," or "Old Methuselah," or "Placid Plodder," or "Dowager Duchess." Today with respect and affection it is known as “Gooney Bird" everywhere.

The event comprises of new and interesting features, interesting and mildly challenging flights which will take place in varied locations around the world, so gear up for the flight of the life time.
