This update includes support for exporting flight plans to FS2004, PMDG's 737NG, SSW A310, XSquawkBox, X-Plane 7, and FlightSim Commander. It also includes winds aloft support for Weather Center2, plus 10,000 additional new ready to use flight plans.
The Fsbuild 2.1 is a very intuitive IFR flight planner that is used for many different flight simulators like the PS1, Fly!2 and, the MSFS.
Released by Ernie Alston for the price of absolutely nothing, 2.1 features many important updates and, changes that improve over it's predecessor.
The first thing change that is noticeable is the map view which graphically displays created flight plan routings but, that's not all. The map also displays available Navids airways, SIDs and STARs.
Another feature is the enhanced coded route interpreter, the interpret various coded route and, the flight plan formats. If anyone wanted step climb calculations for long range flights, it is now possible and optional. There are other calculations for aircraft performance like climb cruise, fuel, and descent.
An IFR routes database has been included just for Canada. The best thing about the update is that all of these features can be used with X-Plane, FS2002, PS1, FlY!2 and, Flight Sims. For the Flight Plans there now is a database of ten thousand ready to use stored flight plans and, the ability to create save or delete flight plans. For the display there are numerous graphical improvements such as, the graphical SID/STAR display that assists the pilot in determining the best SID/STAR route for direction of flight. There is also route waypoint highlighting , so anyone can see the direct location of each waypoint in the flight plan. FL notation is displayed when the route waypoint is above defined transition altitude for departure/ arrival area. Another feature added for display is the Online ATC situation display view but, only vatsim supported at this time.
The last feature for display is the insert relevant user configurable web sites into Fsbuild interface. In the end the Fsbuild 2.1 update is great because it adds tons of new features for free.
