Pilots who are interested in flying virtual aerobatics are invited to compete in the Virtual Aerobatic World Championships. Participation is open to users of FS2000, FS2002 and FS2004. For more information, click on Read More.

Can you fly? Can you REALLY fly?

After our local competition last year in Germany we like to go worldwide. Like the real aerobatics we will make a competition on the KLAL Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. You fly at home and record a flight video in Microsoft FS2000, FS2002 or FS2004 and send it to the judges.

Aerobatic shows happen across the globe and are usually performed by experienced Air force jet pilots. Similar to the real world aerobatics, virtual world Aerobatic shows have been taking place for the last 10 years.

These virtual aerobatic shows have been conducted in the form of Virtual world Championship. The first edition of the event was held in the year 2003. The tenth edition of these games would be held in September 2012.

For those flight simulator enthusiasts, this is a great opportunity to show their skills. They could participate in the classic Aerobatics section or in the 4 minute freestyle event. In the classic section, participants could choose either the glider or the power mode.

The rules for the event are based on the rules set by the FAI and CIVA. If you are interested in competing in this event, you need to have experience in creating simulated flight sessions using Microsoft flight Simulator 2002, 2004 or FSX.

There are also non Microsoft platforms such as Prepar3D, Xplane 9 and Xplane 10.

Before participating in this competition, you need to undergo training sessions in creating simulations. There are a number of software platforms available that provides step by step instructions in creating simulations. In the initial stages, you need to create simple steps and plan to complete short sequences. Once you are comfortable with simple steps, you could expand your expertise by taking up complex and lengthier sequences.
