From the Ohio River to Dayton

Cincinnati sits near the centre of a sheet spanning the meeting ground of south-western Ohio, northern Kentucky and south-eastern Indiana. Coverage reaches north across the Cincinnati–Dayton corridor, south into Kentucky, west over Indiana farmland and east towards the hillier country of southern Ohio. The Ohio River and its tributary valleys form strong visual features through a landscape that shifts from flatter, glaciated ground in the north to rolling, more broken terrain around the river and farther south.

Terminal detail and wider context

This Terminal Area Chart concentrates on the Cincinnati region at a closer scale than the Sectional Aeronautical Chart covering the same area. That makes it the more focused sheet for examining the terminal environment and relating the built-up corridor to surrounding valleys, ridges and rural ground features. It has no adjoining chart of the same type, so routes continuing beyond its limits are better placed in the broader geographical context supplied by the relevant sectional.

Common questions

What area does the Cincinnati Terminal Area Chart cover?

It spans 38.4°N to 40.1°N and 85.9°W to 83.7°W. Airports on the sheet fall within Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. The full list of public-use airports within its coverage is on this page.

Should I download the GeoTIFF or the PDF?

Take the GeoTIFF if you are loading the chart into moving-map software or a flight planner — it is georeferenced, so the software can place it correctly on a map, and it ships with a world file and FGDC metadata at 300 dpi (27.1 MB). Take the PDF to print it or read it on a second screen (56.8 MB); it is the same chart without georeferencing.

Is this the current Cincinnati chart?

This is the FAA edition effective 9 July 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. Visual charts are reissued every 56 days and we publish each new edition on the day it takes effect. It is for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.

Is the Cincinnati Terminal Area Chart free to download?

Yes, with no account required. FAA charts are United States Government works and are not subject to copyright protection in the US under 17 U.S.C. § 105. Guest downloads are speed-capped, so a sheet this size takes a while; PRO members download at full line speed and can take the whole family as one archive.
